LIVE FROM THE ROAD!!!Bisbee, AZ Final show on the road (sort of) here in our favorite little town in the US. New Orleans (our favorite big town in the US) treated us well depite us spending all the money we made. That of course equals fun. Three days, gigs for each, splendid weather, not much sleep. What can we say. Houston was a private gig for the five friends of the Mahatma where we were righteously treated by Scott, the booker at Rudyards, and on then to San Antonio and a sizable appreciative crowd. Then the haul. All the way to Bisbee in one go! We'll be back in SF for Halloween and a show at the Fire Garden, and then on to Seattle for a couple of shows with !Tchkung! newly reunited! And home again...

LIVE FROM THE ROAD!!!New Orleans, LA Yes. Well. Suppose everyone is pretty well eager to know just what we are up to at every moment, so we be coverin' the bases here at the "dot org", yo. We have now, in fact, "done" the coast and are now headed west. Our time in Neuvo Jorko was fairly well spent despite the Captain's Log forementioned loss of mirrors and unwitting incarceration at the Welch compound in Brooklyn. Just as well, though, a big bad nor'easter came through and rained on the whole east coast anyway precluding any street playing in Charlottesville. More QT with our NYC peeps, though. Godluv'em. A short jaunt to Knoxville brought us to a giggly gig for the fine folks of that fair city where we all watched in amazement while the Captain let himself be manhandled and abused by a toothless old friendly neighborhood drunk who found his floor wiggling during Joe Hill just to hot to handle. What a stud! Then Asheville, the San Francisco of the South East! Wined, dined, laundered, bathed, hot-tubbed, and coddled by dear friends Je (trumpet player from the Squirrel Nut Zippers) and his wife Sarah (Venus on the half shell, surrogate road Mother), a gig for the sweaty, drunken kids in a hip new art space, and an extra day forgoing Athens to remain and play in the Ashevillian steets. Another short jaunt to NO and now we have managed to obtain two indoor gigs for tonight and tomorrow (sun. & mon.) before our scheduled gig at the Circle Bar on Tuesday. If anyone is reading this fresh and has friends in NO you want to edify we'll be at the Abbey on Decatur tonight and Lounge Lizards also on Decatur tomorrow night! Ride on, westward riders!!!

LIVE FROM THE ROAD!!!New York City Well, the band has gone through a bit of a separation and hiatus as the Mahatma veared off course to perform some cemeterial duties and the Captain and Reverend went on to NYC. We are all now in Gotham, however as yet not reunited. Whatever will become of us if we don't insert self to self to self again for the adoring hordes !?! Pittsburgh was...well, Pittsburgh. Actually, it was Wilkinsburg and a little punk rock hovel where the kids come to earn their sea-legs, so to speak, practicing on their electric guitars and big amps. We played for about twenty minutes on our small amps before everyone's parents called everyone home to bed. However, we were met by fans, some of whom drove over two hours to see us and some from back west who just serendipped upon us. We spent the night in the girls dorm of Chatham College! We can promise you, though, no laws were broken. Fear not, prudent Rubesters. Tonight Brooklyn, tomorrow the world! (or at least a funky little dive bar near Bellevue)

LIVE FROM THE ROAD!!!Bloomington, Indiana Well, here we are in the warm embrace of Hoosier appreciation. Played a great show last night with our boy Evan (from the Japonize Elephants) and his band here in Bloom-town. We were loved by all and returned the favor accordingly (our haunches are still a little bruised). St. Louis was made special by the appearance of a crowd of five (our one fan brought friends) who were so excited to see us that they had been getting drunk in celebration of our arrival since getting off work earlier in the day. One of them (godluvya, m) spent our entire set unloading her excitement into the toilet. Such is the effect we have on people....

In Other News:Our recent request for photos of the last Leeds gig has, unsettlingly enough, unearthed a photograph of the Reverend Wupass' long lost twin brother, from whom he was separated at birth: [thanks to Cindy for the photo]
LIVE FROM THE ROAD!!!Chicago, IL: Here we are folks! After three days on the road we have made it to our first gig in Chi-town. It was, by far, the longest drive and the most money spent on getting to a gig to play for eight people and make $30. Ah yes, the glories of Rock and Roll! The trip was more or less uneventful with us making an average of 90 mph across the great plains states, the Reverend offering up our lives to the fickle hands of God several times in the black, rapacious night. We took to sleeping with each other for comfort, yet not falling prey at this point to the calls of the dreaded "Mangina." We now make for the banks of the Mississippi to play for our one fan in St. Louis and with our friends from Portland, the Dolomites. Casualties so far: - not a little pride
- the bell of the Captain's sousaphone (broke in twain in a gale off of the mighty Lake Michigan)
That is all.

Right! Well, Leeds again. This will certainly make up for the short-changing we all got on the appropriately titled "Chaos" boat party last weekend. Our apologies to any who came out and forked over the big bucks to catch all three of our songs before we were shut down by the powers that be with a sense of propriety. Anyway, we return to our little kingdom on the corner of 22nd and Mission Streets this weekend to play all the songs! And! Wake the neighbors, phone the folks! It's time for... Rube Waddell's Let's Shoot Ourselves in the Foot TourYep, despite a hired booker failure, no time, no money, no vehicle, and countless other disasters over the last few months we have managed to put together a little tour that has the unique characteristic of having not one weekend night booked!!!Are we crrazy? Hell yes! See you on the road...
